Peter
Peter...... Just ran your co-ordinates that you had on your G.P.S when you 'broke' your latest personal best record thru google......and it seems to put you about 20 -30 km north of Prossy....west of the highway...(they allow buggy's on the roads up there now???)......isn't Conway Beach south of Airlie??????????..... just looking about and found this. i dont know about 20 t0 30km north of prossy, the photo was taken after getting home, and waiting for billy to go back again. it was on the table in my back yard. popeyethewelder
Well today happens to be my turn for a new PB, after a 370mile 7hr round trip....to spend the total of two hours on the beach and a total of no more than ten minutes in the Dominator Buggy, because of mental gusts, the wind was 28mph gusting to 41mph, with hail stones rain sun you name it, we had it...I literally couldn't keep my feet on the ground when the 2.5 Century was at the Zenith, any way, after being rather disappointed with my top speed, and Croftland1 getting over 40mph in his new (My Old) SuperBug, we headed back to the car park, it was only when I was taking my GPS out of the holder I noticed the top speed was set on the average speed....Ahaaaaaaaaaaa, no wonder I felt I was going faster than it said... After locating the top speed, I found that I had done 54.30mph, after covering only 4 miles....87.38kmh/54.30mph chuffed wasn't the word, finally got home and called into the pertrol station to fill the van up to the brim again, and the total amount I could get in was... yep £54.30... SoutherlyBuster
Good one popeye, now I know the other reason why you guys where helmets, hail stones hitting your face at 87 km/hr, that got to smart when it hits.
Goz
Nice work Popeye just shy of the 55mph mark but a very respectable speed indeed only 13km/h short of 100km/h. Sounds like you had all 4 seasons in your short stay at the beach though.
