Dick.tracy
Helston eh? Do you fly inland anywhere? No trouble with the aircraft from culdrose? Always worried me, that!
SCrowther
Helston eh? Do you fly inland anywhere? No trouble with the aircraft from culdrose? Always worried me, that! lol, nah we dont, my old man knows the guy who works for aircraft control and at the distance our site is from culdrose any aircraft should come anywhere near our kites. and also there are no flying paths over the site, well i have never seen a chopper go directly over. only ever around the edge of helston. seen the odd passenger jet go over but at 60,000 feet they aint much of a problem:D cheers sam

Should be no problem with the aircraft - unless you lines are over 200ft.
xrnickm
Sam I've worked with your Dad a few times - is he still at Culdrose? Anyway back tokites. I'm just about to buy my first de-power, I noticed you have a sabre 9.5. I have a choice from 8m access2 or sabre1 9.5 - which do you reckon on for learning to fly and board on. Dick.tracy
Cheers Sam - any chance of flying at your site, or is it private? I work at culdrose, and by the time I drive home to Newquay the light has gone, it would be sweet to have an hours fly before setting off home! (miss all the traffic too!) xrnickm
Sam Been rushed off my feet at work this week and most of the family been sick so doing the school run. I will try and talk to the right people next week and get things moving. I just need to get approval for using the airfield during non-flying periods. I might try and get Cookie to help with this one. Cheers Nick
ct4oc
Culdrose helos aren't allowed to fly over Helston below 1000 feet Watch out for the Air Ambulance though Good point, we normally land on the cricket pitch but put down in the field next to the hospital last week. We do look before we land tho, so we'd be looking out for you. funny enough i think kite killers are a great idea but i wouldn't want to be attached to my kite if a chopper put down nearby, drawn into rotors would be a nasty way to go and a b*****d to clean up! ct4oc
i'm front line ambulance service, i've riden the big red pigeon a few times but often call them in for a rapid transfer. i don't think i can be bothered to jump through the necessary hoops to be on it permenantly, it's a bit political!
