Sorted the tandem out ready for a trip to Scotland - Luce Sands .

Liams taken to the buggying and had some good runs on our last beach trip to borth a couple of weeks ago.

The wife and daughter enjoyed the tandem rides on our last summer hols - courtesey of Ace Chippys tandem - thought this time we would get sorted for 2 x buggies or 1x RS and tandem

Just thought i would add my belated views of the RS - I have a standard with swan neck and back rest running on Deli midis and i find it to be stable and great for blasting up and down the beach . As for the seat there are a few issues with seat tensioning but once you get it set up and keep the straps tight its fine . Finally i also added a buggybags TSG to mine and that fits great and does the job

Just thought I'd report ... I got a 42.8mph last Friday in my Bigfoot RS ... Pembrey (what a beach!) first time out with my 6m Access in steady 25-30mph.

RS was super stable, I was cruising above 40mph for about 2miles, no problem at all. Lots more to come :):)

Big "five ooh" is the next target!

following on from an earlier discussion thought I'd share my latest top speed. Managed 36.8mph (up from 34.7) at hoylake this afternoon in a gusty/shifty SE wind on a dry but bumpy surface with my 3m Buster 2 (again) No OBEs but plenty of luffed/stalled kites, which I was less than keen on. Top speed more through luck than design. Gust hit and I just went with it.

I managed 36.2mph on the beach yesterday. As with Plezzy, it was a vicious gusting wind but was a cold northerly. I chose my 3.5 Rage at first due to the gusting, but I could only get 25mph. I switched to the 4.7 and recorded this top speed with ease, (I'm sure if I'd pushed it I could have gone quite a bit faster, but the wind was building and becoming a lot more aggressive.) A squall then hit and I was getting yanked vertically out of the buggy in Zenith. Scary stuff!!

 Hi everyone,

I’m definetely intentioned to buy a buggy in the coming weeks.. I’m into powerkiting since last summer and had a lot of fun with a scrub board and a set of rage 2.5 and blade IV 4.9.

I was looking for a used VMAX, but seems that this one is not only very hard to find but also expensive.. Then I read all in here and I’m starting to considering to buy a brand new RS!!

What are your suggestions on this matter? Which set up should I choose for the RS?? Rear axle: 135 or 150? Should I buy the Bigfoot light fork and Swan neck down tube?? What is this for?? Wheels wise, should I go for the normal ones or for the midi ones?? Mainly I’ll be using the buggy in parks around London, and rarely on beaches I guess.. What do you suggest?

Can you help me on the ideal set up? Also, what is this super RS of which many of you are talking about? Where can I buy mud guards or splash guards for the RS??

Thks a lot to everyone!

Guys,

I'm going to order on RS with 135 rear axle tomorrow or the day after.

Have a big doubt though.. Ralf is saying that i don't need a swan neck with the standard or midi wheels..

Here on the forum I'm reading that some of you are recommending to buy a swan neck in any case...

What should I do?? Buy it in standard configuration or with the swan neck?? I'll be using probabily the standar wheels, being most of the time on grass..

Plse, can someone expert give me a good advise?

Thks a lot!

its a bargin in this form from rs you looking at 200 quid all you need is back rest 25 quid from rs

i dont think the guy knows what it is

but if your going to buy one new of rs go the whole hog 135/150 axel mid wheels and the swan neck you only live once and its only going to cost 250 quid ish you wont be disapointed

the swan neck i think alters the angle of the seat and also lowers the seat (ithink) the mid tyres well just look better than the skinny barrow tyres also if you want to change them later its costly i paid 45 for three tyress 5 for delivery and a tenner at the local tyre shop for some one to put them on cos its not as easy as changing a bmx tyre then your left with three barrow tyres that you cant give away ! the width of the axel well that to if you feel you need a wider axel its going to cost more later might aswell get it now !

good luck

Thks a lot to everyone for the suggestions. Then I'll order it with a swan neck and a 135 rear axle (i think that for the time being this is the best compromise for me..).

Midi tyres: are they good on grass or are too slippery???   I'll be using the buggy 80% on grass, so not sure which set of tyres is good for me....

Thks again to everyone!

I use midi's on grass most of the time aswell, not found them slippery at all. I have them pumped right up in the dry and when its wet and muddy I let some air out to increase the footprint. Works good for me :D

And yeah I got a swanny and a 1.5 axle - the buggy is as solid as a rock.

ooooo my new board has just arrived :D:D:D

I've an RS with 135 axel, midi wheels and a standard neck. Tyres are up nice and hard.

I'm mainly on a beach and with the tyres hard I do slide a bit, but that's half the fun. Dry grass yesterday wasn't an issue with loads of grip.

Current setup is with the ride quite high with plenty of ground clearance. We have one beach that has sproated some large boulders over the winter and I really don't fance bouncing my butt over one of'em.

Bug seems to handle great with the standard neck, swan neck for bigfoots, but as I don't have them the angle of the seat is real comfy for me with the standard.

Tough choice I know.

simple.
