Rossp
My brother is looking at getting a new cheap buggy. He has looked around and likes the look of it. What is it like for comfort and strength. I s it worth the money or would he be better to save up to get something better? Many Thanks Ross
Coyote
Looks like a Libre only a lot cheaper Gotta be worth a buy if he doesnt want to spend a fortune or buggy jump
Maverick440
The RS buggy is a great bit of kit and well worth the money........ Ive got an RS (I think its the seconde one in the country) and im well impressed, ats best described as an cross between a V-max and a special. The seat could do with a bit more back support, but if you fit the rear strap as Libre do its OK, or better still get a Back rest made for it. Also if you as the seller (Ralph) he will also do a swan neck down tube which reall improves the buggy set up. Post to the UK is no problem and takes about 3 days............ There are a number of us on hear with RS Buggys, and as far as I know every one is very happy with the buggy. Go for it dude........................ Bushy99
This is where all the RS owners jump in LOL. Yep, I got one too. Well happy with it. Tried all sorts to unsettle it but it's rock solid. I'm with Maverick, get a backrest. Go for it, just think of the dosh you'll save and you could still get a flexi as a second bug LOL:D
Spiritflier
Got one... Love it... Get one! As Mav and Bushy said, only the backrest needs sorting out. I had an old SkyBums one laying around so I turned it sideways and slid it down the back of the seat... Nice and comfy now. I paid £200 for mine including 1.5m axle and wide tyres. Delivery was almost two days. He posted it on the Tuesday and it was delivered on the Thursday lunchtime. Apart from one or two cosmetic mods, the only other thing I've had done to mine was the addition of a mini swan-neck (Thanks Mav ). As for the strength of the thing; at Shell Island recently I had Dave (LetoII) sat on the axle with a video camera and there was no sign of a bend or any stress on the frame. For the price I defy anyone to find a better buggy. See ya, Si
Nicolli
Gotta agree with all of the above comments. I have my RS and I am well pleased with it. couple of minor issue in relation to the buckles letting straps slip, but once I had a little help to lock them in that problem was sorted. Would definately recommend a back rest, but I think that can be said for all buggy's. I am currently thinking about a swan neck and maybe a splash guard. For the price you really will not find a better buggy. Infact for twice the price I don't think you will find a better buggy.
LetoII
Saw both Si's and Mav's down at shell the other week and had a good chat to mav about em, and they look sweet! Both guys had fitted swan necks and having sat in them I can see how without them the geometry would be slightly off, and they'd both fitted backrests to make it comfy. As to sitting on the back of si's and filming, yeah it didn't bend at all (but i aint that big! i'm only about 12st! though hanging on with one hand whilst filiming backwards over my shoulder is fun If i wanted a bigger buggy I'd definitely get one having seen them, the welding and general construction is sound, and at that price you can't really argue! Fluffy-lou
I'm looking at getting my first buggy and am tempted by the price of the RS's... they certainly look good value and it's great to hear that those who have them like them... My only concern is that I'd like to know how heavy they are? My current other contenders in the 1st buggy stakes are the good old Flexi and the Libre Special. I really like the look of the Libre but it's quite hefty at 18kg, when the Flexi only weighs about 9kg. I'm concerned about lifting it on to and off buggy racks or in and out of the boot of a vehicle etc - I'm no weakling, but as a girlie I don't quite have the strength to physically chuck stuff around, so need to consider this in my purchase; but I'm no lightweight either and want a good, strong buggy that will be stable - and I'm not planning on buggy jumping! Rossp
when the Flexi only weighs about 9kg. no it dosent it weighs about 16kg it weighs abut 9 whithout seat ot wheels. Thanks For the replies, What is the swan neck like on the buggies and for a begginer would ireallly make much diggerence when hes been flying with a homemade one made of an old bile and a wheel chair? Bushy99
no it dosent it weighs about 16kg it weighs abut 9 whithout seat ot wheels. I can still lift the RS onto the same bike rack that I used for my old PL. I've had a dodgy back for years and it didn't hurt (that much LOL)
dmb
... for a begginer would it really make much difference when hes been flying with a homemade one made of an old bile and a wheel chair? 'kinell mate, can't think of anything that wouldn't be an improvement over old bile and a wheelchair ... Spiritflier
Here's my RS... I forgot to mention that apart from the swan neck that Mav did for me, I added a homemade buggy bag to the back and added a couple of extra straps to the front of the seat to stop it from sliding back but that was just a personal thing 'cos I'm a fatty! I also added a couple of straps to the footstraps to hold 'em up away from my feet and I found a couple of old gunbag shoulder strap pads that I've put on the footpegs but they're only on there for cosmetic reasons. I'd also better mention that the missus made the splash guard for it. http://www.kitenutz.com/images/RSBuggy%20004.jpg http://www.kitenutz.com/images/RSBuggy%20009.jpg See ya, Si
Angoose
That does look impressive to some of the crappy ones i've seen around my local field. granted they are buggies all the same but i'm impressed. angus
Bushy99
Nice looking splash guard Si. Did everyone buy the blue one then LOL:D
Nicolli
looks like it, personally I would have liked one in black, but i don't suppose colour makes that much difference. Still considering a swan neck, think I will wait until I have my back rest.
gary rix
I too have an RS buggy, you just can't fault it ,mine has midi wheels a 135 axle ,swan neck, libre seat and bigfoot forks, it was so cheap compared to any other buggy's that i just had to buy it,and yes i am very pleased with it. Can any of you guys tell me how you made a back rest?
