Iflyablade
Yo, I imagine the title is gonna through up some unhappy responses - but I've only been to one kite festival, Swindon, and it was fairly lame... Can anyone tell me where/what are the best massive kite meets this year? Im keen on going to some, but I'll have to try and prioritise!!!(sp?) Cheers Matt

Fire Exit
Absolutely, My first festival last year, I'd only flown with half a dozen people at the same time before and then all of a sudden I was in the middle of a field with a few hundred. As you walk out the noise from the stalls area fades and you just hear the whistle of kites and you can turn 360 degrees and just see kites buggies and boards. Absolutley Awesome ! Can't wait ! Skydude
Personally I'd like to say "if it's your first real festival then dont bother....just to make sure there's enough room for the rest of us......lol" But I spose if I were being trueful then hell yeah wallop is a must!!!!!!!! (thanks Pink Buggy Girl) Just joking with the first bit, If you can get there, then it's a must.....
mick
Personally I wouldnt bother going. Its not worth the effort. Forget it. Paint the fence or something. And leave a bit more room for me and my couple of hundred mates to play. If you gotta ask, where ya bin?

craig.w1599968638
we had a cracking time at Wallop last year...... we did manage to find space .....anyone else find the tarmac fun :) Also the SWATK BBQ ....... ....Wallop is a must even if its just for the "social" side of it we worth the trip
petey
Damn right! Wallop is definitely worth a visit. Be warned though, it gets pretty crowded. It's also inland, and tres tres thermic (gusty and unpredictably lofty ) but there's no sand to get out of yer kites afterwards and the social scene is top dollar - bit like a kiting Glasto! However, some bunch of wierdos called the X-Zone happen to run some pretty sick events around the UK. They're doing two HUGE ones this year - plus four other competitions all over the country just for Kite Boarding and freestyle Buggying. Could be worth a look? Be aware that the crew can be a little odd at times, and you're best off avoiding any sudden movements when around em. I've heard that lots of beer, pancakes and twisted tricks can calm em down though...
Uncle
It is an interesting venue, and if you do not enjoy the hussle and bussel of the 900 odd acres then perhaps you could visit the rather enjoyalbe Museum at the top of the site. Uncles top tips for Wallop. 1) Take a loo roll 2) Go to the toilet before the sunrise 3) Try not to pitch a tent near Skydude, without ear plugs.
