Sounds like it was a jump on teh wagon shop, so my surgestion is take it back get a full refund and then go to a shop that will include theh lines (and possibly do theh kite cheaper in the first place)! Rich Holloway Posted July 31, 2004 Report Share Posted July 31, 2004 The problem with a 3m Blade is that it wont produce any decent power until you take it out in winds that will also make it fly very fast and be ultra agressive. Then you'll get airs but will plummet afterwards, a 4m Buster or a 4.5m Bullet would be better and as Flexifoil says Blades are not for beginners but for intermediate to expert flyers. I fly Blade III's from 4.9 to 8.5 but i wouldn't like to fly the 3m simply because it's so small and fast. Blue Ice 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The way I understand it Flexi do not include lines as standard on teh Blade range (belive they do with the Bullets) as may kiters like to use xx length or yy strength etc, thats why Flexi reccomend ceratin lines strengths for thir kites only. How ever most decent kite shops WILL include line free, after all as you found out what good is a kite with out lines Just Add Water... good kite shop....? The fact they did not know they were not in theh bag, so should have atleast told you that you needed lines, think that answers my question? dmb Posted July 31, 2004 Report Share Posted July 31, 2004 For static flying the Blade III 3m is fine as a starter kite, with the right care in the right conditions. I agree that it will be a fast, hard puller in the kind of winds that it will fly best in (20mph+), but it'll fly well enough to learn in around 10-15mph. Not the best choice for jumping - any lift will drop fast and hard too, but then jumping is optional . My first power kite was a Blade II 2m and after a few months practice in summer/autumn winds I was comfortable enough with it when winter came and the real wind arrived. (Can't wait to fly it again actually - one of the only things I ever miss about that time of year is my 2m ) Be careful and you'll have great fun with it ... and use appropriate protection (got your kite killers yet ?) OUCH!!!! good decision ! its always a better idea only to fly when you are happy with the wind conditions, your experience level and the kite you feel comfortable flying. one word of advice [based on experience]; make sure all 4 lines are the same length before you start flying and adjust them if they are not - dont take it for granted that as they are brand new they'll all be the same length - and bear in mind that its highly likely that the main power lines will stretch after a couple of flights [you may or may not notice that you start flying with the brake end of the handles pushed out and away from you] and will need adjustment. this typically happens after flying for the first time in a reasonably strong wind. have fun and be safe ! All the places I've seen have advertised the Blade as coming without lines, but the people at the shop really should've told you that.
