Northisles
Hi Folks. Long time away from here. Not had my kit out in over 2 years for too many reasons to list here. Going to be with family in Cumbria next weekend - anyone got any tips on good buggy beaches, and which work in which conditions? Thanks! mick
Cumbria is a big place. I reckon BLS is your favourite but depends where exactly you're going.
Northisles
We'll be staying Just South of Kendal in a wee place called Sedgwick. BLS is seemingly one of the best locations I can find. Been checking tide details: Sat 12th - High7.37 @ 1131(bst) Low 0.97 @ 1753(bst) High 7.80 @ 2345(bst) Sun 13th - Low 0.66 @ 0557 (bst) High 7.62@ 1205(bst) Low 0.73@ 1809 (bst Theses highs are below 8m, anyone know the sand will dry out in time, and what time around low tide works best? Cheers
mick
I'm afraid I can't help you with that one. Unfortunately, most of the buggyers who would use BLS are no longer using the forum.
Northisles
So it seems. I was a keen buggier a few years ago, then work and family life took over. Just dusted off my kit and getting back into it - even had to re-activate my membership here - seems that this forum is a lot quieter than it used to be. Are they elsewhere / or no longer buggying? Most people use Facebook now, there are plenty of kite buggying groups including UK locations on there to help you

Northisles
Cheers folks - I'm one of the few who don't have a facebook account, and would love not to have one! Oh well!!
mick
Well I can only agree with you 100% on the farce book stuff. Why on earth they use that instead of here. And then they have the audacity to say that the forum is very quiet. I spose most of them spend their time snap chatting selfies of their helmets as well. popeyethewelder
It's much quicker easier and where everyone is, that's why we use it, forums and tbh a lot of websites are barely used these days, most buisness use FB too, that's where there customers are. Such a powerful tool like it or loathe it, it's as intrusive or as private as you want it to be
xtreme playboy
Yeah I had to bite the bullet last yr with the FB thing think I am up to 6 friends ! And before anyone comments " that many " or not surprised ! Yeah yeah Shame though these forums seemed to have died from what I can see FB groups fare no better. Right I am off to see if I can delete some friends there's one bugger who a prolific poster and makes my phone light up like a Xmas tree, I know switch notifications off , kids keep telling me , but then how would I know when people post ? Oh bollocks I am to old for this sh ... Ok I am going to have a rant , well there's no one here to listen , Who's finds it more difficult these days to organise friends with smart phones emails Twitter FB instal ping pong what ever than back in the 70s you just rang them up and if you wee lucky they would answer if not last time you meet you would just say next sat 8pm such and such a place and low and behold you were all there :-) Maybe there's a reason why I haven't got many friends mmmmm
mick
Cheers folks - I'm one of the few who don't have a facebook account, and would love not to have one! Oh well!! TBH, you don't need one unless you want to keep in touch with the those who do have one. Personally, I don't. Generally the FB users show up here periodically saying the forums are so quiet. Of course they are. Dump FB and they won't be quite so quiet. It aint rocket science.
