Europe in September?!

Looking for a trip away for a week or so in September. Not keen on the mad spots like Tarifa but would like a wave spot (nothing too mental!) and some things to do if it's not windy. A decent school nearby might be good but not essential.

I know September is a bit iffy as its cooling down so not so many thermals around. Anyone got any suggestions for 3 or 4 days of wind?? At the moment thinking Fuerteventura (is there a nice beach break wave spot?) Or the west coast of France. Possibly Portugal. Be grateful for info and for any advice!

Cheers!

Sam

Have a look at El Medano, Tenerife, I'm off there 19th Sept for two weeks again ( 4th consecutive September), Nice waves over the reef on the harbour wall, flatish in the bay, plenty of accommodation, not too busy September, (Festival first week), good mountain biking and hire nearby, SUP's to hire if no wind, good vibe in the surf bars. plenty of restaurants and shops to keep the girlie happy, and super easy to get to from the airport.
