broraboyan
So they have them on sails why not a kite?after all it is a sail but I will say that I don't think it will work on foil kites .
slide
not on fast turns
jonesh
Tell tales are mainly used on sails to show when the sail is stalled (oversheeted), a kite will tell you if it's stalled by backstalling. Kites are far more responsive than a sail on a boat (which you can massively oversheet and it looks the same) and so wouldn't really benefit that much from tell tales
The Geoff
Gaffer tape, string, job done. Let's give it a go, I'm curious.
BladeAddict
You're forgetting binoculars to be able to see them properly too
broraboyan
^^^^^wheres you Xmas spirit of adventure, and what length of lines do you use probably ones you can't even see the kite .I've look this up the Geoff and you can attach them about 125mm away from the trailing edge and on the top, the line or cassette tape should hang over the edge, when it's properly trimmed it should be a straight bit of string or tape, when it's out of trim you shouldn't be able to see it or it'll be hanging down.worth a shot Edited December 23, 2013 by broraboyan
stevethane
Just use 5m lines no sight problems and you will develop reflexes like a cat
BigE
Interesting thought, not for foils though but single skin kites I can see the point. lol on the binoculars, how would you see them at 20-25m? OMG don't send me off on tangents WB-Sails - Aerodynamics Edited December 24, 2013 by BigE
