tszy
Thought I'd try some of these strings [ I normally only buy Ernie Balls ] The guy in the shop recommended them but they don't have that initial metallc jangly sound that Ernie Balls do when first fitted although I do like their tone. Has anyone tried these before?
jamie501
I use elixir nonowebs on my acoustics been using them for about 3-4 years and in that time ive tried a few other brands to see if i was missing out and nothing comes close to the elixir's in my opinion. Havent used elixir on my electrics as I am quite happy with the d'addarios

tszy
R.I.P. Jim Marshall Always used Marshalls - British and best : )
slide
brilliant british amps , brought very much into the spot light by jimi hendrix , when he came to briton in september 1966 , and his manager chas chandler sold his bass guitar collection to buy jimi one and the rest is history .......i have a vintage 1971 20watt marshall valve head (they were sold originally as 20watt pa's , and came with square speakers , which i have as well ) i made a mini stack with 2 celestion 12inch speakers -one in each cab, and used it alot for several years - what a sound it had - you could use it flat out as it wasn't too big (still loud tho), and thats the way to use valve amps , flat out .........what a brilliant guy jim marshall was - one of the great british inovators
Blademan
mm I bet that marshall is good. I have a wem amp that is very similar (maybe identical circuit, 2 el84's) and flat out it sounds great, but it doesn't look as nice as the marshall! slide
brilliant - what you might not know , he was supose to go on and do voodo chile , and then hey joe , but cream had broken up that same day , so he did a tribute of sunshine of your love at the end as well, now this was live tv and his roadies were hold the tv crew back , cause they were trying to cut em off - thats why you hear jimi say "we're being cut off the air" , and the end is cut a tiny bit short .....they were the days , live music
