mancdel
Hi, does anyone know of any treatments you can use to re waterproof old kites. The beaches round here probably wont dry out till about april.
Batz
Seal and Glide is the one. I've used Tek Wash on really old kites, worked fine for me.

luffy m
Gushie - You would need about 4 bottles of the stuff to do your kites!
mick
I spoke to a guy in the industry and he said that you should really do it when the kite was new. Just like carpet scotch guard I guess. Whats your thoughts. Has anyone used it on older kites. Does it reduce the porosity and absorbtion? Buckleheid
just keep em out of the water....
Gushie
SnG will do both it works very well on old kites as the weave will have loosened due to general wear and UV exposure plus any initial coating (if any) will have degraded, water proofing isn't essential but the times i have used it (Psycho2, Speed 1 13 & 17, Gurella 2 13) its given the kites back that sheen and crispy-ness water would just bead up and could be shaken off and sand wouldnt stick. mancdel
Thanks for the replys. I had some tech wash in the cupboard so i washed the kites in this. They came out looking really clean and flew a bit better but it did nothing for the waterproofing. Would like to try seal and glide. Anyone know where to buy it?
