Weather Information, Tides, beach condition and most importantly, when you are thinking of going for a blast so that others can join in? Anything relating to Kite flying, Buggying & Boarding etc at Mablethorpe then please feel free to post here. Jim

zooms
metcheck says 25mph winds today - actual speed about 2-3mph just down the road from mable at the mo
tobias
Yesterday's metcheck for Mablethorpe predicted about 5mph winds and all of a sudden their forecast says 25, all other sites still seem to say wind will be low so not sure what's happened on metcheck! windjammer1599968715
what was wrong with the origonal thread that popeye started
Smogthemog
The 'Origonal' thread that Carl started was not specifically about Mablethorpe North beach! It was about Lincolnshire which being the largest county in the UK, could cover rather a lot of sites! DaveGY
well i spent 3 hours battling 5mph winds and sinking sand at Mablethorpe today lol drove 40mins to Cleethorpes to be rewarded with 10-G15mph winds and firm fast sand with a lowish tide, stayed there till the tide lapped against my tires will watch the forcast and xcweather for tomorrow
zooms
i tried cleethorpes a couple of weeks back for the first time and it was better than i expected, just more water about - and an estuary to avoid!. think the summer tides affected the beach a bit at mable as well, as their seems to be a bit more soft sand about since summer started compared to winter... Smogthemog
What buggy wheels are you chaps running? Barrows of bigfoot's?

DaveGY
yeah bigfoots down by the tide line are a must if you dont want your fillings rattled out lol At low tide yesterday there was more beach than Mablethorpe, but it was short lived as the return tide is fast. Im running barrow wheels, saving up for a bigger kite so the bigfoots will have to wait
zooms
i'm on bigfoot lights - day i went to cleethorpes was a bit low wind so i didn't venture very far as the wind dropped to nothing every now and again, i'll give the place a go on a better wind day as it does look a bit of a challenge avoiding things - its got good access from the car park in the caravan park too. Smogthemog
Had an excellent day today at Mable. It started off with a SE 5MPH wind and the going was difficult. I went out with the 9M for a start but soon came in for the 11m. It still prooved very difficult to get going any but after about 2hrs the wind started to pick up to an estimated EES @ 10-12MPH. This was well doable on the 9m so I packed away the 11 and spent the rest of the day on the 9. Sand was soft in places with quite a number of streams across the main runs with lent to a very wet day's buggying Topped out at 25.8MPH and did around 15 miles in total. It was great to get back in the seat again after 4 years of being out!!
