It was really good, Bob and Tiger were running 8m Access' but were majorly overpowered. They dropped to 5m Access with some success. I was running a 3.8 reactor which was a handful in the gusty breeze. Had a couple of good runs but couldn't get any height because of the speed that the power came on.

Even with the 5m Access' up, the other boys struggled a bit. Would be good if we could drive about 500m on to get nice steady winds.....

Thanks for the photos. The great thing for me was that the Canberra crew got together again and I hope this can be more of a regular feature during 2014. I will try and recce both lake road from Bungendore and access to the east of the lake by the wind farm. Hope to meet up again soon.

I tried out the area of the lake approaching up Lake Road from Bungendore yesterday. I went almost to the end of the road where access is very easy - you can drive down onto the hardened lake surface. This area is still up against the escarpment but I walked out about 200m and set up. Winds were not as strong as last time and were easterly. The buggying was ok but the lake surface is badly cracked with the odd wider crevice that made for an uncomfortable ride and could be dangerous if a wheel got caught. I did not think it was worth the trouble of driving round there. At some time I will investigate the far side of the lake at the base of the wind farm.

Thanks Tiger....useful feedback.....when I get out there, I'll head for the Federal Highway access....but it might be three weeks away, because I'm off to Merimbula for a couple weeks! Hanging out for a low tide and an easterly! :D

Enjoy merimbula. I was down there before Christmas and had a couple of good sessions on the northern beach. Let me know when you intend heading out to lake George and I'll try and join you. Look forward to meeting you.
