williamjames555
yep climbing rope will work buy about 2-3m for spares. in terms of lenght you put your lower arm (elbow down) pointing to the sky and uper arm (about the elbow perpendicular to the ground. this if done correctly should make a L sorta shape then hold the end of the rope in your hand (pointing to the sky) and do one full loop from the hand to the elbow then back up the reverse. its realy hard to explain hope you get it if not just guess but make sure your can still keep a grip when one if fully extended
dragon2009uk
65cm is medium length for a strop line would work fine on that kite. u can make one or buy one from any kite shop.
Plezzy
Ideally rope needs to be none stretch (pre stretched) and hard wearing. Alternative source is a yacht chandlers. When cutting remember to allow for the length taken up by the knots. Better going a little long as you can always shorten by re-knotting when out flying and then tidy up with knife later on. dragon2009uk
yeah it's good to go longer as the knots shorten the usable length of the strop.
Chook
I use "Starter Rope" for small engines, chainsaws or lawn mowers. It's very abrasion resisting and strong. I agree strop length is a personal thing, keep adjusting till it feels comfortable.
