Plezzy
Looking at going to BRS on Sunday, however high tide (3.4m) at about 2pm just wondering how much beach would there be to use on this tide? I was there last Tuesday and tide was just after the springs peak. High tide mark was about 30 metres lower than the speed signs along the beach, except were you got to the stream. Quite a bit more room there. If no one else out (flyers or public) you could have managed a fly even then at high tide, but wouldn't have been great. As we're now in to neaps at high tide there should be quite a bit more room, but I can't say how much. For me in my big bug it would have to be pretty much on-shore. If I go on Sunday I'd be aiming to get there v early before the beach get squeezed. Edit - Looking at the Easytide predictions and working back I reckon High Tide last Tuesday was at least a 4.7m. Not sure if that helps
chinook
Just for the record on a 3.4m high tide there was plenty of dry beach all day. Must have been about 7 people in buggies and another on a land board plenty of room for everyone. Managed 105 miles, a record for me in one day. Just wish every Sunday was this good. Gushie
Q. How is Rhosneigr in a SSW (cross-on shore) ? and does anyone know how much of the beach is flyable at hightide? Theres naff all wind on the east coast this w/e but windfinder is showing 16 to 18 at mid day for Rhosneigr on sat'
Andypost
Rhossy is great in a SSW, not land kiteable at high tide very little beach with very soft sand and no access due to the river crossing. Low tides around 4ish usually good 3 hours either side. Hope this helps
Gushie
cheers Andy! , 3 hours either side just need to figure out if its worth the drive?! either no flying on sat or 3hr drive to fly on sat ...decisions decisions
bartiebat1599968741
Go to BRS this wk & next (it's the last 2 wknds it's open). That gives the rhossy river an extra 2 wks to warm up a little

bartiebat1599968741
Where are you staying? We should hopefully be camping at Rhossy that weekend. You have to time it right to get your buggy over the river, but once it's there it's an awesome stretch. That should sort you S - W, LLanddona is best NW - NNE. If your over this side though Talacre is massive but too soft for me - the race kite boys seem to like it though. Then of course further down Borth/Ynyslas is brilliant for all

bartiebat1599968741
Ahh its been a while on this thread! So rhossy was gorgeous Wednesday night & then Kinmel was properly minging last night!! The algae bloom is in full swing, I came off the water dry cos there was no way I was going to do anything that may risk me falling into it, so 15mins later, bored, we left! How are the other beaches doing with it? Westshore, Conwy Morfa, Llanddona? It might be that it was just cos itwas an hr before high tide, so I'll check again Saturday morning. I'm not normally adverse to a bit of scum, but this was layers & layers of it (& we'd been spoilt with how clear blue rhossy was the day before). I feel for the newbs who can't get up & have to bathe in it, the slop underfoot was over boot deep too - not nice!!
