sgillow
do you ever worry about leaving a van overnight full of kites and buggy that someone will break in It isnt a problem, the scum that do this dont know kites so they run off, they are after tools. My van was broken into with kites in and they left the kites there. My vote is for a Toyota Hiace, very reliable.
Kiteboyza
Yes. I have nightmares. of Windjammer naked in your bed? He needs a 16 wheeler to sleep in so these vans all be way to small;)

lazarus
i been looking at the peugeot expert hdi I have one of these, they are nice vans though it is worth trying to find an HDI version. Royster definatly has the best conversion i've seen if you are looking for inspiration for what can be done with them.
windjammer1599968715
been looking at the hdi
mick
Hey cock, Ive been looking at both, the Peugeot and the Citreon. the latter being a fair bit cheaper. I wonder if they're as good. The reviews say the locks on the Peugeot are far better. Dya reckon the Hdi is a lot better engine than the 1.9? Could I live with the 1.9 I ask mesen. lazarus
they are the same van, even the dash in my expert is the same as in roysters dispatch and there is a facelift revision between the 2 models. as for locks, if you wanted the better locks then just get a set from peugeot, they should drop straight in. as for the engines, yes the HDI is alot better, more power and more economical.I've never had any issues getting up hills or getting up to speed. mick
So you've got the Hdi Expert Laz. Fuel wise, what do you get?
Druncan
We've kinda set on the Citroen Dispatch 2.0 L1H1 HDI XTR The XTR is the offroad version of the van but without 4x4 fuel guzzling. -Limited slip diff -underbody bash plates -Stiffened and 30mm raised suspension -Mud/snow tires http://www.pressportal.com.au/news/299/ARTICLE/4084/2009-01-07.html Anyone considered/have experiance of this model? lazarus
So you've got the Hdi Expert Laz. Fuel wise, what do you get? couldn't give you exact figures as i've simply never really spent the time to log it and do the maths. I can tell you that on a trip to a training course in Slough (I live in leeds) and had a 30 mile commute each day for the 4 days i was there i burned through less than 3 quarters (about 5/8 is probably closer) of a tank (roughly 515 miles) I don't tend to lash it though so getting above 70 on a long run isn't the regular an occurrence. its a little thirstier around town but not by much. I didn't even realise there was an off road version. wonder if the do the bash plates as an after market part
Ped
3 of us did Aberdeen to Benone in Northern Ireland this weekend past in a new style berlingo, it was a little bit cramped with 3 folk in the front but we managed to get 3 race buggys, 3 full sets of race kites + all our camping gear and clothes in the back of it without to much probs. I think the total journey there and back was around the 550mile mark and we did it on a tank of diesel and averaged 44mile to the gallon while cruising at 75mph. sonicseal
My olde Berlingo is galvanised = No rust.
mikland
I'd love a beach bus, jus gotta convince the missus now! I drive a Citroen Dispatch 1.9 for work. Its a real dog of a motor, totally gutless. Go for an HDI, if you spent your hard-earned on a 1.9 you would regret not getting an HDI every time you drove it. windjammer1599968715
Hey cock, Ive been looking at both, the Peugeot and the Citreon. the latter being a fair bit cheaper. mick
Hey cock, Ive been looking at both, the Peugeot and the Citreon. the latter being a fair bit cheaper. I wonder if they're as good. Could I live with the 1.9 I ask mesen. you get 50mpg with the 2.0 hdi and it has a intercooler AND ? (cock) Well I took out a 1.9 Expert yesterday and while it seemed ok it lacked the torque of my old Toyota 2.4. The engine revved nice enough but I don't know now what to do. There are thousands of 1.9's for sale. Come on you lot, someone must have driven the 1.9 and the 2 ltre hdi. Mainly I'm around town with the occasional beach trip. If I need to go quick I can take my car. I need an honest review of both.
