MikeDobbs
Hi everyone, I'm new to power kiting. I've been messin around with a landboard, and will be taking kiteboarding lessons this summer. I picked up a used Best Yarga recently, and realized after the fact that it has a C-Bar (which I think stands for competition). Problem is, the 5th line on this kite terminates up where the back lines attach to the lines from the kite, as opposed to going down through the bar to clip into. In other words, I can only fly the kite suicide right now. Is it a big deal to modify this so the 5th line comes down below the bar? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Steve
Mike Take the kite with bar and lines to a decent shop or to someone you know that has been kiting for several years. I've reread you post a dozen times and I cannot guess what you are saying about how the kite is currently rigged? Or post some pics here so we can see how the kite and bar and lines are rigged. The 5th line is supposed to go through the centre hole in the bar, but you have to be very sure that when you activate the 5th line safety that the 5th line can slid through the bar for several metres and totally depower the kite. Its not an ideal kite to learn on, you will find it is hard to relaunch without a lot of swimming and effort. They fly ok, they were based on the 04 Fuel from memory.
