Hi Anyone here flying near Chester? Are there any good local spots? I have been using the racecourse a little but it's very gusty. Would be good not having to fly on my own from time to time.

I remember joining this forum some time ago when the north wales kite scene was buzzing on here. Constant activity, ongoing conversation about the last meet and the next, where we were going and who with and what etc... Now its seemed to have disappeared. Is there something I don't know about? Has something happened? The point of this post really, is just to say, I wish those days were still with . Anybody else who thinks the same should create a new North Wales 2013/14 thread and try get things going again... I might be trying to beat a pinata blindfolded on this subject but... ....Who's with me?

Just wondering if there's anyone on here that kites around the Mold and Flint areas and where they tend to go when the wind gives a bit of a holler....

Hey all, I moved to North Wales in September, learnt to kitesurf in Bournemouth a while ago, looking to get out kiting ASAP! I have one 12m o-zone kite, as it's quite a lot windier up here, i'm guessing i'm going to need a smaller one most of the time! I'm living near Prestatyn, but I know that Llandudno west shore and Rhosneigr are really good spots. Are these spots generally quite busy on a good day? - i.e. plenty of people to launch/land me? I've kitesurfed for around a year, if anyone fancies meeting up on a windy day and going out somewhere then send me a message! Cheers

dropped in yesterday, its spring tides so at low water (early afternoon) ive never seen the beach so big, maybe 300 to 400 meters to the water and so so flat and smooth, nobody on the beach with a gentle onshore breeze. so why didnt i take my buggy?

well after my plans to visit Rhosneigr last weekend fell apart (thanks Mrs PurpleMonkey for arranging to go into work), i have decide to ditch work Weds & Thurs to take advantage of the nice weather and introduce my new Frenzy and Trampa to the wonders of Rhosneigr beach, so far its looking good, checked the forecast, got a car sorted, phoned the campsite, told work i won't be in, now all i need do is get through 1 more day at work and we are off..........Yay:D So is anyone else taking the initiative and telling their bosses to stick it for a couple of days and enjoy what will probably be the last of the decent weather we will get this year? Go on you know you want to............enjoy it while you can

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk271/hyrons/vansurf_2011small.jpg Putting the date in early this year so people can plan for this one. The camp-site will be closed to the public and open only for us! . Plans and ideas are being developed but i have been assured that there will be Demo kites and boards again along with some entertainment. This is also advertised on VW forums to get the vw buses along but its not a VW only event!! many have turned up in cars with a tent.. all welcome. Please put your name down on here if your thinking of going to get an idea on numbers! Home - VanSurf for more information.
