Ozone Access XC 4M

Apart from the sexy new moulded chicken loop, is there much of a difference in the actual kite? I bet you can fly a 4m Access in ridiculous winds!!

Good early review - great to see some detailed pictures. I thought all the ozone depowers had turned to 3 lines? Bag looks crap, but they have dropped the price!

Lukcy guy's got one already! lol My 6m AII will for sure see me past 40 (then i know people who fly 10m mantas full power in 40 lol) so be the 4m must be for chicken oriental mental winds. Whats the power like compared to the AII's?

So today was windy,, not the nice sort of wind,, 5mp/h Min, 14 mp/h Average & 25 mp/h Max, a few squalls coming through, one of them days that what ever fixed bridle kite you get out its going to be wrong, ideal conditions to try the Access out then. Two of us over our park and between us we had a Mk 1, Mk 2 & XC all 4m in size, so we set them up, and took off, flew for some 3 hours swapping between the kites as we want, this gave us a good opportunity to see the difference between them. The Mk1 This was the least stable of the kites, the wing tips tucked on turns, and the power comes on in sudden bursts, still a nice kite to fly in the conditions. The Mk2 This was comparable in stability to the XC, the power is still delivered in sudden bursts, and is the more grunty of the 3 kites, this was harder to handle but was still nice to fly, although of the 3 is the one you may feel more on the edge with. The XC This was stable, the power comes on smoothly, and you don't get a sudden jolt from the kite, it did feel like it was less powerful in the conditions we were flying in, but the up-wind performance was the best out of the three, for ease of handling the XC was by far the best, and landing the XC took less effort than the others. All three kites were only just feeling like they were coming alive in the higher gusts, that said, they still performed well in the lower winds, although feeling a little under powered, but with the winds changing by the second, these were the kites to be flying, so I look forward to flying them in more stable conditions to see how it improves. So last weekend it was windy,, it gave me the chance to try the 4m XC out in the sort of winds it should be flying in. Did it perform, did it yes, we had average wind speeds over our 4 days at the Ho of high 20 mp/h and a max wind speed of 39 mp/h, the kite fly's like a dream. It is stable, lovely, power comes on smooth, didn't miss behave once.. The de-power is great for the launch, pull it in launch the kite, and up she goes, plenty of pull but not mad, let the trim strap out and feel the power come on, it works very well on the small kite, which is impressive. Once going you can work the kite, and if the gusts come through let the bar out a bit, without being dragged sideways, but still powered up, don't know what sort of wind speed this little kite is going to top out at, suppose it's what you have the nut's to launch it in. To top all that managed to get my PB speed in a buggy with it 46.9 Mp/h, and still wanted more, didn't feel out of control or stupid, was cruzing in mid 30 mp/h easy. The turns are nice, the kite has very little lift, only once did it have me up on 2 wheels, going into a turn a bit hard and redirecting it a bit quick. All I can say is bring on the wind, this kite loves it, Shrimpo
