HQ Crossfire

Borrowed this from another member so i could see what it was like and after a month living with it has really impressed me,first of all the bag is huge, still got that daft big zipper but looks more like a de power kite bag,fairly good construction with lots of straps and pockets.

The kite itself is ok in construction,nothing to write home about but i think this kite will last the test of time.

To start with this kite needs brake input , if the winds blowing it will not sit still unless they are firmly on so i had to move the brake lines up a knot to make it behave on the ground.On launching you get a progresive input of power as the kite rises through the powerzone but no nasty suprises and then will sit nicely at the zenith, the kite is very responsive and gives quite good feedback to the handles which is essential as the crossie is no slouch and will catch out the pilot who takes there eyes off it for more than a second so it isnt the steadiest kite as in it likes to wander a bit so be aware when mounting a board or buggy.

For traction ,especially buggying the crossie comes into its own with loads of grunt to get you moving quite quickly so ideal for the smaller traction areas,on the upwind turn there is plenty of power to drag out the back wheels for a fast exit but you wont get as much upwind ability as a Blade or Oxigen for instance but much more than a lower end budget kite such as beamers ar radsail pro's.

To sumerise i think this is a great kite for a step up and and also for the more advanced pilot, the crossfire does not have the same dynamic lift as a Blade but brings on the power and lift that it does have a little more gradual so so suits the less advanced kiter too, for traction there is little on the market in the same price bracket to humble the crossfire so if you were after a good all round kite to fit in into the 4 mtr bracket then the crossfire will fit the bill.
