Couldn't agree more - the 1.2 is a fantastic little kite - it'll give me fright or two in really strong winds but with the control of four lines it's still safe enough to fly (and land). Big grin kite (ok, aren't they all?) Welcome to the wonderful world of kites Ben_M.....!
I'm with Martin_R here - the killers are great quality but really difficult to put on - especially if your kite is itching to fly in high winds - and really stiff. I also find they're too big for my girly wrists. So I think they'll be appearing on ebay very soon so I can finance some Flexifoil ones instead!
Thanks for all your comments....I've been out a few more times since writing the review and I have replaced the ozone handles with a pair of large Flexifoil handles. Mainly because I don't have the strength to apply the brakes easily with the smaller ozone handles in strong winds (I'm a rare girly flyer!) Also it gave me a couple more inches of slack on the brake lines - I was finding I had the brakes partially applied all the time which was giving even more pull! I also originally bought Ozone kite killers to keep it all "in the family" but these are enormous for my small wrists! So back to Flexifoil ones too.... All aside my original thoughts still apply - this is an awesome kite!
I bought this kite second-hand from ebay (of course!) after reading about Ozone's quality. Being a fan of Flexifoil I was interested to compare the two and see what the fuss was about. I'm not yet into kiteboarding or buggying and find anything over 3.5m very scary so the size seemed about right.
The kite comes in a drawstring bag - nothing very substantial but big enough to store the kite easily and fit in a stake (not included). I found the bag became a kite of it's own in strong winds if not packed away somewhere (cue me running like a loon across the field after it!)
My kite is the blue and white version - on opening up the first thing that struck me was the obvious build quality. This kite oozes strength and quality. The orange and green colour coded bridles seemed a little strange after the usual blue and red of Flexifoil. Had to untangle previous owner's attempt at winding lines, reattach etc.
The handles are much shorter than Flexifoils but I loved the neoprene covering, and they suited my hands very well. I've not had a chance for a prolonged session yet (bah winter weather) but I like the design. No kite killers! For such a powerful kite (forget the size, this little beauty pulls!) I would think killers are necessary and I have now bought some. This little kite pulled my 20st boyfriend off his feet first time he flew it (mind you it was near gale force at the time!)
As for flight, well I can safely say I'm an Ozone convert....it flies like a dream. I think the most obvious difference was how smoothly it skims through the sky (like butter). It's very powerful - loads more pull than a Flexi 2.4 Sting. Tight turns, really fast and responsive. In higher winds it's got considerable pull and due to it's speed was at times quite scary! I'd recommend this kite for anyone wanting a smaller kite for higher winds who has lightening speed responses and a big grin is definitely guaranteed!

I bought this kite from Kiteworld at Dunstable Downs kite festival in July after flying my boyfriend's 2006 Sting 2.4 and wanting one - especially in PINK! I'd already bought a 1.2 as I'd had a couple of scares using the 2.4 and wanted to build up my confidence level. I also really dislike the 2007 colours - they're so dull.....thank you Flexifoil for bringing out the Punk range for us girls.
The first thing I noticed with the Sting 2 was the change in kite profile - it's more of a chunky shape and the end cells are definitely wider. Also it flies much faster! I expected this from flying a 2006 Buzz compared to this years version (which I also have in pink!) The lines are colour coded and the kite is a dream for the beginner - it goes together so easily, really simple to pack up and bring out - takes no more than a few minutes to unwind, stake out, unfold the kite and you're away! I've read the handles are probably too small for the kite and I would agree it's not always easy to apply the brakes in high wind situations - I've not tried any other handles (apart from the crappy ones on my Beamer) and had put it down to not being strong enough.
I found the kite will fly (just) in winds less than 5mph but really gets going over 10mph. Lots of pull, really stable at the edges of the wind window and doesn't overfly the zenith. It's great for loops, dives and skimming along the ground. I'm still learning to scud and try small jumps - not sure the kite is big enough or has enough lift to get me off the ground but I'm enjoying learning and giving it a go!
Overall, great kite with top class build quality and will give hours of fun.
