  1. It might have trashed the kiting forums but it hasn't trashed other forums I read. I think the kiting forums were in a minority in that lots of people met up with each other in real life, so it became natural to add them as friends on Facebook when it became popular. Other forums I read are still hugely active, but the people on them rarely, if ever, meet in person. Morning all, BTW.
  2. Not to mention they can also be filled with sand to enable to you to hold down a bigger kite, eh Jon? All of my BuggyBags kit is still going strong; a testament to the hard work of you and (mostly!) Helen, given the environment we subject it all to.
  3. I took the wheel down to the local tyre fitters and had them put a tube in it last time it happened to me. Just tell them it's from a really big wheelbarrow.
  4. I've just been through the new online Ozone landkites brochure. It doesn't include the Yakuza GT anymore - the highest performance Ozone kite now appears to the be the Method. Anyone know if the Yaks are no more?
  5. You'd find it *so* much easier to board with an 8m Access, you know...
  6. One of my colleagues used to work at Mars, and used to bring home very cheap bags of chocolate. His wife was 5' tall and ended up at around 20 stone. One evening he looked over to her, sat on the sofa stuffing her face with Maltesters, and said "There are three of us in this marriage. Two of them are sat on that sofa." They're not together any more. I don't have any problem with a nick name of Nig Nog. One of my school mates was called Nigel, and we all called him Niggel (or maybe Niggle?) I've no idea why but we all went along with it.
  7. If your interest is jumping and tricks rather than speed runs and racing, but you're looking for some form of competition, it might be worth having a look at the dual line kite Virtual Freestyle competition rules and adapting them to freestyle buggying. http://www.virtualfreestyle.com/ Providing you can drum up enough interest from other buggiers around the world you could end up with an interesting challenge.

  9. I might need to brush up on my regs, but I thought class 8 rules say you can't be enclosed by the structure of the buggy. Still, it's a stonking kite buggying result. Having seen the effort he went through to launch the kite at before getting in the buggy I've accepted I'm never going to go that fast in a buggy! Awesome stuff, serious respect!
  10. Can anyone remember the type of bearings that fit an XXracer headstock? I need to sort through a pile of bearings to work out if I've got some! Cheers.

But not totally impossible. I think reading posts on the internet has broken my brain.
  12. Without wanting to take the thread too off topic(!) have you considered a towbar mounted bike rack? You've seen the Thule EasyBase on the back of my truck, and a Flexi and PL combined must be about the same mass as an XXracer. There are a couple of advantages to a bike rack - you're not limited to 50mph and you can drive in the outside lane of the motorway. They also take less space to store than a trailer. Otherwise, the Brenderup trailers look good. Have a look at this thread http://www.seka.org.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=5935 for ideas on modifying a box trailer.
  13. Awesome. Based on this alone, I've added it to the calendar.
  14. I think so. Will there be chocolate brownies?
